About the qigong institute

The Qigong Institute Switzerland, based in Baar, has been promoting Qigong in Switzerland since 2011.

Our offerings focus on Zhineng Qigong and meditation. We work closely with Qigong masters from China and organize courses, seminars, and practice groups. We also offer Qigong teacher training and individual counseling.

Our vision is to promote holistic medicine, i.e. to combine and integrate conventional medicine, Qigong, psychology, TCM and other parts of complementary medicine.

Stephan Friederich is co-founder and co-director of the Qigong Institute Switzerland.

His Qigong journey began over 20 years ago as part of martial arts training. Over time, it developed into much more than just physical exercise: movement as meditation, access to inner stillness, a clear mind, deep connection with the body, and a conscious approach to emotions. Today, in his teaching, he combines traditional principles with modern mindfulness. He draws not only on his many years of practice but also on his experience as a coach in meditation and consciousness work. His goal is to accompany people in strengthening their vitality, finding clarity, and perceiving themselves in their depth – beyond technique, in authentic experience.
